Instrument Construction
An endoscopic retrieval device consists of a handle, flexible sheath, and tip.
Handle
Our standard handle is of a 3 ring
design, which allows for precise, single hand operation using either the right
or left hand. Strain relief at the handle to sheath joint strengthens the sheath
and prevents damage to the sheath during the procedure. The handle is
constructed of light-weight thermoplastic, and is available in a variety of
colors. An optional detachable handle is also available.
Sheath
A key aspect of small diameter flexible endoscope accessories is the
sheath. Our sheaths are made of materials which are both strong and easy to pass
through the working channel of a flexible endoscope. For smaller
diameters polyimide is used. This material is very strong, even when the wall
thickness is very small. To overcome the fact that polyimide is not as
lubricious as other common sheath materials, Annex Medical has developed a
proprietary surface treatment process for polyimide sheaths.
Tip
The heart of
our endoscope accessories is the tip. Our baskets, prongs and brushes are hand
crafted using processes which have been carefully refined through our years of
experience in wireforming and micro-joining. The tips are made of materials,
such as stainless steel and nitinol, which are both strong and safe.
Packaging
Our endoscope accessories are available non-sterile, sterile packaged non-sterile,
or sterile. Complete labeling is available for products which are packaged
including package labels and instructions for use. We can use your labels or
design custom labels for your applcation.
